Information from his granddaughter Celine Amy Brooking:
Served with the Staffordshire Regiment and Queen's Own Rifles (the insignia on his gravestone). Landed on Juno Beach on D-Day. Started as a Private and ended his career as a Major.
Not only did he fight throughout WWII but then made the military his life and had many troops he trained. Served also in Cypress on the Peacekeeping Misssion. Lived all over the world with my Grandma, mom and uncle (Germany for many years, Kingston, Victoria) Received many medals for his work. Last posting at CFB Shilo, Manitoba. Settled in Brandon, MB. Retired in 1971.
Worked as a Customs Broker until about 1985 then retired officially.
