From “Rumbolt, Hann and Associated Families from Newfoundland” it appears the Hann’s first appeared in Newfoundland in the early 19th century, and came from England -- possibly from Somerset. It’s possible Isaiah Hann was born in England and came to Newfoundland as a child, with his parents.

An Isaiah Hann is listed in the 1836 census of Moreton’s Harbour.
