In the 1851 census of Cornwall, Anne Ridley (born about 1823) and Myra Ridley (born about 1818 were listed in the household. Joseph was a Widower at the time, and they were probably his late wife Sarah Ridley’s sisters.
Although married to Isabella in Montreal, marriage registration indicates was living in Cornwall in 1858. Witnesses were Charles Atkinson and Agnes Atkinson.
In 1881, Mary, daughter by Sarah Ridley, and Mary’s husband James Watson were living in household.
